The pudding has come to Melbourne (for the first time!) for a workshop about astronomy outreach organised by the Education and Public Outreach Chapter of the Astronomical Society of Australia: #EPOC2016.
The workshop aims to bring together a number of people from a variety of places in astronomy to discuss what outreach is and how to tailor it to different audiences. The talks are being streamed live via Zoom, and you can find the list of meeting IDs here.
I’ll be moderating a panel tomorrow, so I’m looking forward to that – it will feature Kirsten Gottschalk, Tanya Hill and Lisa Harvey-Smith talking about the kinds of outreach they do and how to do it effectively. It’s going to be a fun and interesting few days discussing how to share the awesomeness of science and astronomy!
